Preparedness Presentation for Newark Housing Authority

Citizen Corps and DEMA gave a "Disaster Preparedness Presentation" to the Newark Housing Authority Staff and Residents. The Presentation is based on the "Family Disaster Plan" which four components include: 1. Make an Emergency Plan, 2. Make an Emergency Kit, 3. Shelter in Place, and 4. Evacuation Procedures. Many handouts and brochures were given out covering Disaster Plans, Disaster Kits, Pandemic Flu, and other preparedness issues. The presentation was very well received and the group was very energetic and full of questions. Maureen, the Executive Director and POC is making plans for the State Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Team to return to teach a full CERT Course. See additional pics in the Photo Gallery.
